About Thiru Oli NGO
Thiru Oli stands beside some of the poorest tribal and rural families in 36 remote villages of Tamil Nadu—families who have lived for generations without access to education, healthcare, or basic opportunities. Most of the children we meet are first-generation learners, holding a schoolbag for the very first time, carrying with them the hopes of their entire family.

At Thiru Oli, we believe that education is the light that can break generations of darkness. We work to ensure that no child is pushed into labour, forced into early marriage, or denied the chance to dream. Our mission is to open doors that have remained shut for too long—so every child can grow with dignity, confidence, and hope.

Founded in 2010, Thiru Oli was born from a simple but powerful vision: to give tribal children a fair start in life. What began as a small effort has grown into a movement of compassion and change, walking hand in hand with some of the most marginalized communities.

Every day, we strive to empower their youth, support their families, and build a future that shines brighter than the one they were born into.

Vision
Our vision is to light the path toward a just and inclusive society by transforming the lives of underprivileged tribal and rural communities through education, health, and holistic community development.
We aspire to create a world where every child — regardless of background — has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine with dignity and hope.
Mission
Our mission is to empower tribal and rural communities by ensuring access to quality education, essential healthcare, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Through compassion, inclusion, and community participation, we strive to nurture confident, self-reliant individuals who can shape a brighter future for themselves and the generations to come.

Our Story
Muni had spent his life gathering honey in the deep Siruvani forests. After a week of relentless rain, his family had gone hungry, yet he walked into the forest hoping to bring something home. Then came the roar. Before he could even understand what it was, the wild animal attacked.
When his adivasi brothers found him, he was slipping away. He saw the fear in his wife’s eyes, the silent tears on his children’s faces. He longed to tell them he would be alright—but he wasn’t sure he would make it.

Around that time, our founder Mr. S. Prabu stood on a hill nearby, taking in the beauty of Siruvani. Suddenly he saw a group of tribals running—carrying a man mauled in the forest. Before help could reach, the man breathed his last. The cries of his family, losing their only breadwinner, pierced Mr. Prabu’s heart.

That moment became his turning point.

Moved beyond words, Mr. Prabu bought a small piece of land near the settlement and built a humble hut there in 2004. He chose to live among the community he felt called to serve. What he witnessed every day—poverty, lack of education, poor health, and a life dependent only on the forest—shook him deeply. He knew they deserved more.

And so he began. One family at a time. One child at a time. One hope at a time.

Over the last two decades, Mr. Prabu and his committed team have walked with the Adivasi families through every struggle and every triumph, working to build a life of dignity, safety, and opportunity for them and for the villages around them.
